On November 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the German Genealogy Group will present Bob Rau of the Norwood Family History Center, speaking about German Script. The workshop will take place at the dayton Liederkranz Turner, 1400 E. Fifth Street. Attendees will have an opportunity for an expert in German Script to translate their family records and correspondence. The translations are 30 minute sessions by appointment only. Come enjoy the next edition of the Liederkranz’s highly acclaimed beer tasting parties. Sample some 10 different seasonal Imported and Craft Beers in our authentic Rathskeller. The Bierfest will include free snacks and great door prizes. Saturday, November 5
· Families will gather in the Great Hall at 4:30 p.m. to create lanterns for each child participating. All materials provided.
· While the lanterns are drying, a snack supper will be served at 5:30 p.m. in the Rathskeller.
· At 6:30 p.m., we will parade through the St. Anne’s Hill neighborhood with our beautiful lanterns, singing the St. Martin’s carols.
· Following the parade, we will meet back at the Liederkranz parking lot for a bonfire, hot chocolate, and a special treat. Please bring lawnchairs, if desired.
Suggested donation $10 per family.
